Role overview

10x Team works with freelance specialists to support AI labs that are improving technical and scientific capabilities. This remote, project-based contract is for researchers and academics in science, life sciences, health, or aviation who can help train AI systems to produce clearer, more accurate domain-specific outputs.

The engagement is flexible and asynchronous, with a typical commitment of 8–20 hours per week. Work is remote and intended for candidates based in the EU or the UK.

About the organisation

10x Team partners with expert freelancers and AI labs to speed up progress in artificial intelligence. The focus of these assignments is to strengthen AI performance in technical and scientific subject areas such as biology, medicine, public health, physics, aerodynamics, aviation, and related fields.

What you will do

• Assess AI-generated scientific writing, explanations, and data summaries for quality and correctness.
• Check whether AI suggestions are accurate and easy to understand when they relate to scientific problems, research analysis, health evaluations, or technical documents.
• Develop, expand, and improve realistic scenarios, practice sets, and case studies from your subject area.
• Spot reasoning mistakes, unsafe assumptions, and missing details in AI outputs, then provide structured feedback that improves precision and depth.
• Help AI models better interpret domain knowledge, laboratory processes, and specialised technical terminology.

Who they are looking for

They want people with academic or professional grounding in science, health, or aviation who can think critically, write clearly, and work independently. Candidates should be comfortable reviewing technical material, identifying flawed logic, and giving constructive feedback in a remote setting.

Application process

Additional information

These AI Lab engagements do not operate like standard vacancies with fixed joining dates. Project availability changes frequently, and matching is based on expertise, availability, and the current needs of the AI lab. Some people may be matched within days, while others may need to wait longer for a suitable assignment.

There are two kinds of opportunities at 10x Team: traditional freelance missions, where the advertised mission is the actual work, and AI Lab roles, where profiles are reviewed and approved for future project access. AI Lab work can be confidential, and project requests may come in with very short notice. In some cases, suitable talent must be identified within 24 hours.

Once a profile is reviewed and approved, matching to relevant projects can happen quickly or may take months, depending on lab demand and the person’s niche expertise.

This is a freelance, remote role with project-based assignments. The expected weekly workload is 8–20 hours.
