About Flam and the Role

Flam is a rapidly growing company focused on AI-native content, operating at the cross-section of generative AI, enterprise-scale solutions, and product innovation. Following its Series A funding, Flam is expanding across India and global markets. The Founding Recruiter role centers on developing and scaling Flam's talent acquisition capabilities by working directly with founders and leadership to attract top-tier talent in engineering, AI, product, go-to-market (GTM), and creative teams. You will lead the creation of recruitment strategies, processes, and tools essential for the company’s next growth stage.

Primary Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end hiring for critical roles across GTM, Product, Design, Marketing, and the Founders' Office.
• Collaborate closely with founders and heads of departments to craft precise role scorecards, tailor interview loops, and define hiring standards aligned with Flam’s mission and growth phase.
• Establish proactive sourcing strategies emphasizing outbound recruiting, building talent communities, hosting events, and driving referrals instead of relying solely on inbound applications.
• Take full ownership of the candidate experience, ensuring clear communication, timely feedback, interview preparation, and efficient processes for roles primarily in India and some global positions.
• Develop and refine recruitment workflows, dashboards, and reports that provide founders with real-time insights into hiring pipelines and labor market dynamics.
• Collaborate on employer branding initiatives including writing compelling job descriptions, implementing campaigns, creating founder-led content, and organizing events that reflect Flam’s culture and ambitions in AI and Mixed Reality.
• Advise on organizational design, headcount planning, and compensation benchmarking for early leadership and individual contributor hires.

Success Criteria (6-12 months)

• Establish a reliable and scalable recruitment engine with clear processes and strong candidate pipelines, closely aligned with founder expectations.
• Successfully make 10–30 high-impact hires across GTM and Product teams, emphasizing ownership, speed, and cultural fit.
• Ensure founders and leadership engage only with well-vetted, high-quality candidates by managing sourcing, screening, and overall process orchestration.
• Enhance Flam’s employer brand presence among AI, Mixed Reality, and startup communities in San Francisco and other regions.

Candidate Qualifications

• 6 to 10 years of full-cycle recruiting experience, with significant exposure to high-growth startups and hiring for engineering and GTM roles.
• Proven track record of building or substantially scaling recruiting processes in lean environments, often functioning as the founding talent partner.
• Expertise in sourcing and closing outstanding technical and business candidates through outbound channels, networks, and innovative methods beyond job boards.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate the company vision effectively to senior candidates and represent Flam among AI, product, and sales leaders.
• Comfortable working directly with founders and able to use data to advocate and challenge decisions; thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous, and iterative settings.
• Based in Bengaluru or willing to collaborate closely with the Bengaluru hub while coordinating with teams in San Francisco and other markets.

Preferable Experience

• Recruiting experience in AI, deep tech, developer tools, or marketing/advertising technology companies.
• Previous roles as the first recruiter or talent partner at Series A or Series B startups, especially with distributed global teams.
• Competence building straightforward recruiting analytics and dashboards for leadership insights.
