Role Overview

We seek a Founding Product Designer to shape how users engage with Clark. This role centers on translating intricate AI workflows into transparent, dependable, and user-friendly software. Collaborating closely with teams across Engineering, Product management, Audit Engineers, and clients, you'll gain insight into current professional practices to create seamless interfaces, workflows, and systems that foster trust in AI in critical environments.

As an inaugural designer within Clark, you will hold substantial influence over the product journey—from initial concepts and user research through to refined production designs. You will be instrumental in developing our distinctive design language, steering product strategy, and defining the daily experience of AI interactions.

Responsibilities

• Craft intuitive, end-to-end experiences within Clark's main platform.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Audit Engineers, and customers to capture workflows and convert them into well-considered product designs.
• Manage the design lifecycle from discovery, wireframing, through to high-fidelity mockups and production-ready assets.
• Develop clear workflows specifically for AI-enabled audit and accounting solutions.
• Lead user research initiatives, collect feedback, and iterate designs rapidly based on customer input.
• Construct and refine Clark's design system, interaction patterns, and visual style.
• Ensure designs promote clarity, trustworthiness, accessibility, and excellent usability within complex enterprise processes.
• Work in close partnership with engineers to guarantee faithful design implementation.
• Define and uphold design best practices to elevate company-wide product quality.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years' experience creating contemporary software product designs.
• A robust portfolio showcasing strong product thinking, interaction design, and visual design expertise.
• Proficiency with Figma and current product design toolchains.
• Experience designing for complex web platforms or enterprise-grade software.
• Ability to apply systems thinking to clarify complicated user workflows.
• Comfortable collaborating hand-in-hand with engineering teams throughout development.
• High level of ownership with capability to work independently amid ambiguity.
• Excellent communication skills paired with sharp product insight.
• Exceptional attention to detail with passion for designing beloved user experiences.

Preferred Experience

• Background designing AI-native or agency-like applications.
• Exposure to enterprise workflow software or productivity tools.
• Design experience within highly regulated or trust-critical sectors.
• Practice in building and maintaining scalable design systems.
• Conducting customer-centered research and usability testing.
• Experience working at early-stage startups.
