Position Summary
The Food and Beverage Assistant Manager role is a full-time, on-site position located in Chandler, Queensland. This position involves assisting with the daily management of food and beverage operations, including overseeing service teams, coordinating event arrangements, and maintaining superior product quality and presentation standards. Responsibilities encompass planning and delivering catering functions, monitoring inventory, assisting with procurement, and ensuring efficient stock control.
Key Duties
- Support customer service excellence by managing guest inquiries and promptly resolving issues.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety regulations.
- Assist in staff scheduling, onboarding, training, and ongoing team development.
- Collaborate closely with Venue and Catering Managers to meet operational and financial goals.
Qualifications and Experience
- Solid expertise in food service and food & beverage operations, particularly event or venue catering.
- Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service and handle client relations professionally.
- Experience in supervising staff, coaching, and supporting team growth within the hospitality sector.
- Competence in basic budgeting, cost management, stock handling, and minimising waste.
- Familiarity with food safety standards, hygiene practices, and work health and safety guidelines.
- Previous experience as a supervisor or assistant manager in hospitality or catering is highly advantageous.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, able to perform effectively during busy service periods.
- Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and event-specific shifts as needed.
