Role overview
This position focuses on analyzing financial and business performance, including expense trends, returns, depreciation, working capital, and investment-related activity. The role supports decision-making through reporting, research, and careful review of financial data.
Key responsibilities
- Build forecasts and examine patterns in sales, finance, and broader business conditions.
- Suggest improvements to financial policies and guidelines that strengthen the company’s financial standing.
- Prepare figures for journal entries and review the general ledger along with related statements for accuracy and reasonableness.
- Gather, organize, and assess information needed for financial statements, ledgers, reports, and tax preparation.
- Create financial reports for both internal stakeholders and external recipients.
- Follow all safety and health requirements connected to the role and any instructions from the supervisor.
- Observe and comply with company security procedures at all times.
- Take on additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- A qualified accountant with 2 to 3 years of relevant experience for the analyst level, or 3 to 5 years for the senior analyst level; an equivalent mix of education, training, or experience may also be considered.
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Mandarin are required, as this role will coordinate with counterparts in China.
- Advanced computer proficiency is needed, including familiarity with the employer’s software tools.
- High-level Excel skills, including macro use, are essential.
- Experience with SAP, TM1, and Power BI would be an advantage.
- The ability to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels, including management, is important.
Knowledge and working abilities
- Can present information clearly and answer questions from managers, clients, customers, and the public.
- Able to identify issues, collect data, establish facts, and reach logical conclusions.
- Comfortable using a Windows-based computer and related software.
- Capable of writing simple correspondence and understanding visual aids.
- Can follow straightforward one- or two-step instructions and work within standardized situations.
- Can read simple instructions, short messages, and memos with understanding.
- Comfortable performing basic arithmetic, including fractions and decimals.
- Can calculate ratios, percentages, and rates, and interpret graphs.
