Ma’aden Barrick Second Company (MBC2) is looking for an on-site Finance Assistant to support the finance function and contribute to the growth of the team in Jiddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. Key responsibilities
- Run monthly payroll activities while ensuring alignment with company procedures and Saudi labor rules.
- Handle accounts payable processing, including invoice checks, three-way matching against purchase orders, and supplier disbursements.
- Review supplier balances and work with vendors and internal teams to clear invoice mismatches.
- Keep finance records accurate and up to date for payroll, payables, petty cash, and related backup documents.
- Prepare bank transfer files and support accurate, timely payment execution.
- Contribute to month-end close tasks, journal postings, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Track exploration spending, drilling-related costs, and contractor invoices to help maintain cost accuracy and control.
- Assist with monthly cost reporting, budget-versus-actual analysis, forecasting, and budget preparation support.
- Support joint venture cash call activities, reporting needs, and audit-related requests.
- Follow IFRS requirements, internal controls, company policies, and audit standards.
Qualifications and experience
- A bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Professional accounting certification, whether partly or fully completed, will be considered an advantage.
- Good knowledge of accounting fundamentals, financial controls, and reporting expectations.
- Comfort using Microsoft Excel and financial software.
- Between 3 and 5 years of experience in accounting, payroll, accounts payable, or finance operations.
- Experience with ERP platforms such as SAP, Pronto, or comparable systems.
- Working knowledge of payroll, payables, general ledger, and month-end processes.
- Background in mining, exploration, construction, or industrial settings is preferred.
- Strong analytical and numerical ability with careful attention to detail.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to manage stakeholders effectively.
- Capability to work independently, juggle multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Well-developed organization skills and a strong commitment to confidentiality.
- Fluency in English is required; Arabic is an added advantage.
