Job Summary

This position involves executing a broad range of technical service tasks and supporting their planning and management to ensure efficient operation of medical equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main point of contact for Varian Medical Systems customers, addressing their service and repair requirements.
  • Perform troubleshooting, repairs, installations, system upgrades, and routine preventative maintenance on all Varian Medical Systems equipment following company protocols.
  • Operate within a specific field service territory representing the company professionally and maintaining communication with teammates, customers, management, sales, and support personnel.
  • For oncology systems, obtain and maintain necessary client site access by fulfilling vendor credentialing requirements, which may include identification verification, background checks, immunizations, and healthcare-related training.
  • Effectively manage your schedule to accommodate preventative maintenance, installations, upgrades, and responses to customer service calls and breakdowns.
  • Assess and prioritize customer inquiries, escalating issues or seeking additional assistance when appropriate.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex customer issues while maintaining customer service standards.
  • Maintain good territory management and control expenses, ensuring timely and accurate submission of field reports and other needed documentation.
  • Develop and nurture strong customer relationships relying on excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Required Skills and Knowledge

Education and Experience

  • Minimum education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred: Associate degree, technical or vocational training, or relevant military experience.
  • Between 3 and 8 years of experience in field service engineering.
