Field Operator - Energy (Al Khobar, KSA Pool - Based in UAE)

Job Overview

The primary responsibility of the Field Operator is to guarantee smooth and continuous functioning of gas and steam turbines, HRSGs, potline rectifiers, and related plant utilities within the assigned area, under the guidance of the Shift Supervisor or Main Control Room Operator. This includes managing plant equipment safely and efficiently.

Key Duties

• Operate all plant equipment under supervision safely and effectively.
• Promptly execute instructions received.
• Consistently record operational parameters and report any irregularities.
• Notify Supervisor or control room immediately if equipment issues occur.
• Ensure backup equipment is ready for emergencies.
• Support routine testing and re-commissioning activities after maintenance outages.
• Adhere to safe working protocols to protect personnel and equipment.
• Identify potential hazards and actively engage in the reporting system.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the work environment.
• Be thoroughly familiar with all emergency procedures relevant to the assigned equipment.
• Provide hands-on training and pursue skill enhancement for competency improvement.

Additional Site-Specific Roles at Jebel Ali

In the Jebel Ali location, the responsibilities for Operator Turbine & Boiler and Assistant Operator are confined to gas turbines, steam turbines, related plant equipment, and their utilities.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum educational qualification: Higher Secondary School Certificate.
• At least 4 years of experience in power station operations.
• Minimum of 2 years as a Desalination Operator (PG7) or equivalent role in a related industry.

Required Skills

• Demonstrated competencies in operational areas excluding DCR operation.
• Intermediate English proficiency to document and report shift activities.
• Effective communication abilities.
• Basic arithmetic skills such as concentration, percentages, unit conversions, and rate calculations.
• Understanding of single line diagrams.
• Proficiency with IT tools.
• Problem-solving aptitude.
• Planning and organizational capabilities.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in teams.
