Executive / Senior Executive Route & Airspace Security

About the Role

This position is within the Technical & Flight Services Department of the Flight Operations Division at Singapore Airlines. The person in this role will manage critical aspects of flight route planning and airspace security to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Key Duties

• Manage all route planning activities for Singapore Airlines flights, including analyzing routes, payloads, flight durations, and fuel consumption.
• Oversee the Flight Planning System, coordinating with vendors to meet flight planning requirements.
• Maintain accurate flight planning data, including routes, rules, airport and obstacle information, aircraft specifications, and restrictions.
• Handle seasonal, ad-hoc, and charter flight overflight approvals and applications.
• Provide operational support during major disruptions like volcanic eruptions, typhoons, and airspace closures; investigate and resolve technical issues affecting flight operations.
• Administer Operational Specifications for compliance with foreign civil aviation authorities when needed.
• Coordinate with Flight Management System (FMS) providers concerning navigation database updates; manage related budgets and contracts.
• Conduct obstacle data analysis and assist Fleet Management with airport chart needs.
• Support airspace security evaluations by monitoring security assessments and flight movements.
• Process overflight invoices to ensure timely payment for air navigation charges.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from a university in any discipline; degrees in aeronautics, engineering, or technical fields are preferred.
• Understanding of flight operations with advantageous experience in flight planning.
• Strong numerical skills paired with proficient IT capabilities.
• Ability to perform effectively under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
• Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment.
