About Nectar Social

At Nectar Social, we are pioneering a transformative approach to how consumers discover and connect with products. Moving beyond traditional marketing, today's audience values authentic interaction and community-driven recommendations, expecting personalized and human-centric brand experiences. Founded by former Meta product and engineering leaders, Nectar Social has secured over $30 million in funding from notable investors including GV and True Ventures, collaborating with brands such as Oura Health, Caraway, e.l.f. Cosmetics, Kosas, and OLIPOP. We are shaping the future of social commerce where community, conversation, and commerce intersect.

Role Overview

We are seeking our inaugural Event & Community Manager to establish and lead our events and community initiatives from scratch. This foundational position offers complete autonomy to define the structure and strategy for engaging customers, prospects, and industry participants through diverse experiences—from intimate gatherings like dinners and executive roundtables to prominent conferences and ongoing digital communities.

The role reports to marketing leadership and coordinates closely with sales, customer success, and founders to align event and community efforts with sales pipeline growth, client retention, and brand development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute Nectar Social’s comprehensive event calendar, including customer dinners, executive roundtables, networking happy hours, webinars, and managing conference sponsorships and booths.
  • Oversee budgets, partnerships with vendors, venue arrangements, and logistics, building scalable processes to support event growth.
  • Collaborate with sales and customer success teams to devise event strategies that nurture leads and strengthen existing customer relationships.
  • Monitor and analyze event performance metrics such as attendance, impact on sales pipeline, and customer feedback, continually optimizing event planning.
  • Represent the company at industry events by managing onsite logistics, personnel, and sponsor commitments.
  • Design and implement Nectar’s maiden customer and industry community programs—potentially leveraging platforms such as Slack, Discord, or customer councils.
  • Establish ongoing content and engagement routines including AMAs, office hours, member spotlights, and peer discussions to maintain community vitality.
  • Act as the main contact for community members, fostering genuine relationships with influential customers and thought leaders.
  • Identify and nurture community advocates to support case studies, referrals, and organic growth through word-of-mouth.
  • Provide valuable community insights and feedback to product, marketing, and customer success teams for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • 3–6 years of relevant experience in event marketing, community management, or combined roles, preferably within B2B SaaS or marketing technology sectors.
  • Established capability to organize and execute events comprehensively, from initial planning to post-event analysis.
  • Demonstrated success in initiating and expanding online or physical communities from the ground up.
  • Comfort with high autonomy and self-driven process building in a startup environment without pre-existing frameworks.
  • Strong multitasking and project management abilities, ensuring attention to detail across multiple concurrent events.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a genuine passion for building connections.
  • Availability and willingness to travel for events and conferences about 20–30% of the time.

Preferred Experience

  • Background in social media, marketing tech, or the creator economy domains.
  • Familiarity with community engagement platforms like Slack, Discord, Circle, and event management tools such as Luma, Bizzabo, and HubSpot.
  • Previous experience as an early team member in startups, establishing new operational functions.

Offering

  • Competitive salary range between $130,000 and $180,000 annually plus early-stage equity options.
  • Comprehensive health, vision, and dental insurance benefits along with a 401(k) matching program.
  • Opportunities for career advancement aligned with company growth.
  • Hands-on experience with innovative AI technologies shaping brand strategies.
  • Collaborative and driven team committed to leading the AI-driven marketing infrastructure revolution.
