Epic Data Governance Analyst

Role Overview

Optomi is collaborating with a premier healthcare organization to recruit an Epic Data Governance Analyst. This role involves supporting enterprise-wide data governance efforts aimed at enhancing the analytics ecosystem through improved metadata management, data quality, catalog governance, and standardized governance practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the optimization of the Epic Analytics Catalog by evaluating analytics resources, managing metadata, and ensuring alignment with Epic Reset initiatives.
• Create and uphold metadata standards, tagging systems, catalog governance processes, and validation protocols.
• Oversee the monitoring of data quality, governance adoption, and metadata integrity by utilizing dashboards, reports, and relevant governance metrics.
• Ensure access governance compliance by confirming role-based security, Active Directory synchronization, and environment consistency across proof of concept, development, and production stages.
• Establish and maintain governance procedures related to promotion, lifecycle management, ownership, and certification of analytics assets.
• Collaborate extensively with Data Governance, Analytics, IT departments, and business stakeholders to bolster governance adoption and uphold enterprise-wide data standards.
• Develop comprehensive training content, documentation, and communication materials to promote best practices in data governance and improve data literacy throughout the organization.

Candidate Profile

• At least three years of professional experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Business Intelligence, Analytics, or related disciplines.
• Hands-on experience supporting initiatives related to metadata management, data catalogs, data quality, or governance.
• Familiarity with enterprise analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent business intelligence software.
• Prior experience in healthcare analytics settings, especially with Epic Cogito components like Caboodle, Clarity, SlicerDicer, and Radar.
• Solid understanding of metadata standards, governance frameworks, data lifecycle processes, and data stewardship principles.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse cross-functional technical and business teams on organizational transformation projects.
• Proven capability in creating governance documentation, standards, training resources, or data literacy materials.
