Position Overview
We are looking for a devoted and spiritually grounded Pastor to lead our English-speaking congregation, with a special focus on youth and post-secondary ministries. This role involves preaching, teaching, and offering pastoral care. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong preaching and teaching skills, excel in relational pastoral care, and show passion for ministries that span generations and cultures.
About the Church
North Toronto Chinese Baptist Church is a trilingual faith community serving English, Cantonese, and Mandarin members. We identify as one church with three language congregations. Guided by Biblical teachings and led by Christ, our mission is to lead people to faith, nurture believers, foster connections, and fulfill the commission entrusted by Jesus Christ.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Demonstrated clear calling to pastoral ministry with a personally growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Possession of a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) or equivalent theological degree from an ATS-accredited institution.
- Experience working in multicultural and/or multilingual ministry settings.
- Strong leadership abilities, discipleship expertise, and effective communication skills.
- Capability to collaborate effectively within a team and adapt to diverse church environments.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver regular preaching and teaching within the English congregation.
- Offer spiritual guidance and discipleship to English-speaking members spanning youth, young adults, and adults.
- Work alongside the English pastoral team and lay leaders to oversee ministries such as small groups, Christian education, worship, and evangelism.
- Lead and manage Youth and Post-Secondary Ministry efforts.
- Support healthy integration and unity among all language congregations.
- Participate in leadership development and mentorship of lay leaders.
