Role Overview
The Engineering Manager role demands providing robust technical leadership across engineering tasks to ensure that project design intentions are effectively translated into execution. This key position supports constructability efforts, harmonizes technical disciplines, and drives prompt decision-making to maintain steady progress on significant building developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all engineering and technical operations, ensuring effective design coordination, constructability, and swift resolution of technical challenges.
- Examine design drawings, shop drawings, RFIs, and technical submittals thoroughly.
- Collaborate closely with consultants, subcontractors, and client representatives.
- Guarantee constructability, accuracy, and adherence to project specifications.
- Lead prompt troubleshooting of technical problems arising during construction phases.
- Track engineering deliverables to ensure they remain synchronized with the project timeline.
- Provide technical support to planning and execution teams.
- Manage and unify multidisciplinary engineering teams including civil, structural, and MEP disciplines.
- Participate actively in progress meetings, delivering clear and concise engineering updates.
- Support initiatives for value engineering and cost optimization.
- Ensure full compliance with authority regulations and project standards.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for all engineering activities.
Candidate Requirements
- A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering is essential.
- At least 15 years of experience on building construction projects.
- Preferably experience in the GCC region, especially Qatar; experience at Ras Laffan is a plus.
- Proven capability in design coordination and consultancy management.
- Familiarity with QatarEnergy and governmental authority standards is preferred.
- Possession of valid MMUP/UPDA certification is desired or mandatory where applicable.
- Strong leadership qualities and proficient communication skills in English.
