Role Overview
This position offers a valuable opportunity for motivated, professional, and adaptable individuals to join as Education Support Officers. These roles involve providing classroom assistance to students across all year groups within any of the six schools that comprise Trinity College. Positions may be offered on a fixed term, full-time, part-time, or casual basis with potential for appointment in 2026 and 2027.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver targeted learning and wellbeing support to positively impact student engagement, progression, and success.
- Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement tailored learning approaches and adjustments addressing students’ academic, social, emotional, and physical needs.
- Promote student confidence, resilience, and independence by exemplifying positive behaviors and aiding the acquisition of vital life and learning skills.
- Support high-quality educational programs by preparing resources, assisting with classroom activities, and monitoring student progress effectively.
- Actively contribute to a supportive school culture that emphasizes care, inclusion, belonging, and upholds Trinity College’s values.
Qualifications and Experience
- Demonstrated passion for helping young people achieve their personal, social, and educational objectives.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to work collaboratively with teachers and specialist staff.
- Patience, compassion, and flexibility to support students with diverse learning and wellbeing requirements confidently.
- Understanding of inclusive education practices or willingness to develop knowledge, including strategies for diverse student needs.
- Strong organisational skills, proactive work ethic, ability to follow instructions, manage priorities, maintain records, and contribute constructively to a team environment.
- Current Working With Children Check (WWCC) and RRHAN-EC Masterclass certification or commitment to obtain prior to starting work, alongside a dedication to child safety and student wellbeing.
Desirable Attributes
- Certification in First Aid, Anaphylaxis, and Asthma management (training provided onsite).
- Possession or pursuit of a Certificate III or higher qualification in School-Based Education Support.
- Familiarity with Trauma Informed Practice methods.
