About the Role
The Chair for Philosophical Basic Questions of Theology at the University of Regensburg manages the scholarly execution of the project "Critical Edition of Medieval Commentaries on the Prologue of the Gospel of John and Their Philosophical Reception in the Longue Durée," funded by the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and the Arts. This involves producing a digital and critical edition of medieval texts, employing digital techniques to map intellectual networks, and conducting philosophical-theological analyses.
Key Details
- Start date: As soon as possible
- Working hours: Part-time, 26 hours per week
- Compensation: Remuneration according to TV-L up to level E13
- Contract length: Until December 31, 2027
- Location: Regensburg, Bavaria, Germany, with partial home office option
Responsibilities
- Critical editing of medieval manuscripts
- Producing digital editions and utilizing digital research tools
- Codiocological description of manuscripts
- Searching for manuscripts and printed works to expand the corpus
- Possible translation of texts
- Active participation in team collaboration
- Contributing to the conceptualization and implementation of academic events and project development
Candidate Profile
- Excellent expertise in critical editing of medieval manuscripts and codicology
- Good knowledge of philosophical sources
- Doctorate in Philosophy, Philology, or History is desirable
- Willingness to acquire digital skills
- Experience working with Oxygen/Ediarum software
- Fluency in German and English
- Independent, meticulous working style
- Team player with flexibility
- High motivation and proactive involvement in the project’s advancement
