Job description
Role Overview
The Economic Development Officer is responsible for advancing the goals set in the Council's Economic Development Strategy and supporting action plans. Reporting to the Business and Economic Development Lead, this position entails conducting research, analyzing data, and producing insights and trends to inform reports, briefs, and business cases. A key focus is to assist local businesses by identifying their needs, facilitating growth opportunities, and coordinating initiatives that enhance the economy of the Central Coast region. The role emphasizes delivering excellent customer service and generating value for the community.
Applicant Profile
- Degree in Business, Economics, Commerce, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent substantial and up-to-date professional experience.
- Valid Class C Driver's Licence.
- Experience collaborating with businesses and industry to promote growth and development.
- Knowledge of financial and commercial factors as well as regulatory frameworks encouraging regional business attraction and retention.
- Strong skills in research, data analysis, and interpretation, with the ability to translate findings into reports, briefs, and business cases.
- Proficient relationship management, advocacy, influence, and negotiation abilities, especially when engaging with government bodies and industry stakeholders.
Offer Details
- The starting salary for this position is up to 100500 AUD annually.
- Scope for salary advancement up to 116500 AUD following skills and performance review.
- Includes 12% superannuation contribution.
- Full-time permanent employment with access to a 9-day fortnight schedule.
- Flexible working arrangement allowing two days remote work and three days onsite at the Wyong Administration Building.
