Overview

Join the Northshore Senior Center as a part-time Driver I, tasked with safely operating lift-equipped paratransit vans to aid individuals with special transportation needs. These passengers typically include seniors, people with disabilities, and low-income individuals who cannot arrange their own transport. Serving various locations including senior and adult day centers, medical facilities, and assigned destinations, the role requires punctual, careful driving in diverse traffic and weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Operate paratransit vans equipped with lifts ensuring passenger safety and comfort.
• Transport clients to senior centers, adult day programs, medical appointments, and other designated locations.
• Adhere to schedules, traffic laws, and safety protocols during all transport assignments.
• Maintain communication with dispatch via provided mobile devices and tablets for routing and updates.
• Perform safe driving practices in various weather and traffic conditions.

Requirements

• Possession of a valid Washington State driver's license free from moving violations over the last three years.
• Completion of the Washington State Patrol Criminal History Background Check and Criminal History Self-Disclosure Form.
• Compliance with pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screenings.
