Key Responsibilities

• Develop both conceptual and detailed engineering designs for infrastructure projects focused on drainage systems.
• Draft technical notes, design reports, and comprehensive engineering documents.
• Collaborate across engineering disciplines to ensure cohesive, multidisciplinary designs while addressing design challenges.
• Communicate effectively in writing and verbally, engaging with clients, management, and team members skillfully.
• Support designs of wet utilities including foul sewer, potable water, and treated sewage effluent systems as needed.
• Create engineering design models utilizing Civil 3D or similar design software.
• Employ engineering software tools such as SewerGEMS, InfoWorks ICM, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS Pro, and QGIS to enhance design quality.
• Apply fundamental and advanced engineering principles to accomplish complex tasks and model analysis.
• Evaluate design outputs such as plans and profiles to verify technical compliance and clarity for construction.
• Coordinate with BIM and CAD designers to finalize engineering drawings and avoid clashes with other utilities.
• Create workflow templates to promote design efficiency and uniformity.
• Review and verify the work of junior engineers to maintain quality standards.
• Monitor project progress and report status relative to task assignments and schedules.
• Contribute reliably to meet project deadlines and objectives.
• Prepare engineering calculations, quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and surveys.
• Present proposals and design concepts confidently to clients, authorities, and internal teams.
• Possibly oversee junior engineers, offering technical mentorship and performance feedback.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is mandatory; a master’s degree is preferable.
• At least 3 years of pertinent professional experience.
• Possession of an Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate is desirable.
• Proficiency with CAD software and standard engineering PC applications.
• Strong command of both written and spoken communication.
• Knowledge of QA/QC standards and procedures.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Meticulous attention to detail, particularly in design calculations.
• Capable of working both independently and collaboratively within teams.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and engineering software suites.
• Might already have or be expected to acquire MME Engineer Registration within six months.
• Experience working in Qatar or the Middle East region is advantageous.
