Dispensary Manager

Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented pharmacy technician experienced in managing resources within a busy dispensary environment. The successful candidate will lead the patient-focused dispensary operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with all relevant policies and legislation.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the safe and efficient management of the CHS outpatient dispensary following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), medicines legislation, and CHS/CHFT guidelines.
• Manage staffing, resource allocation, dispensary activities, and information flow, including schedule planning, performance evaluation, and staff training.
• Promote ongoing service improvements through conducting audits, monitoring key performance indicators, analyzing incidents or near misses, and initiating projects to enhance workflow, safety, and patient experience.
• Conduct final accuracy checks on dispensed medications to ensure quality and safety.
• Collaborate effectively with pharmacy colleagues and other healthcare professionals to deliver exemplary patient care.

About CHS and the Trust

CHS prides itself on providing exceptional services through teams dedicated to estates, facilities, clinical engineering, and procurement in support of Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust and other clients. Since May 2025, CHS has been responsible for outpatient pharmacy dispensing for CHFT patients.

The Trust is undergoing significant service reconfiguration backed by a substantial capital investment of £196.5 million from the Department of Health and Social Care. This investment is aimed at enhancing healthcare delivery across Calderdale, Huddersfield, and West Yorkshire through modernized facilities at Calderdale Royal Hospital and Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.

These improvements will offer enhanced patient care environments while fostering an attractive and sustainable workplace for highly skilled professionals.
