Dispatcher / Haulier Coordinator

Overview

We seek a motivated Haulier Caller responsible for engaging with transporters and hauliers to secure vehicles promptly for logistics deliveries. This role requires proactive communication, negotiation of freight rates, and ensuring seamless coordination across internal teams to maintain efficient transportation operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Initiate daily contact with hauliers and transporters to organize vehicle dispatches.
• Perform routine outbound and cold calls to secure transport vehicles.
• Negotiate freight charges and confirm vehicle availability effectively.
• Manage scheduling for pickups and deliveries alongside hauliers.
• Maintain detailed records regarding hauliers, vehicle specifics, and journey progress.
• Address transport-related challenges and delays swiftly to minimize disruptions.
• Liaise with warehouse, sales, and operations departments to coordinate logistics efforts.
• Adhere to company policies relating to logistics and transportation compliance.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Minimum education of Intermediate; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Prior experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain is advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills paired with strong negotiation abilities.
• Competent in managing pressure and meeting strict deadlines.
• Effective follow-up and coordination capabilities.
• Basic proficiency in MS Excel and record maintenance.
• Knowledge of UK transport routes is considered beneficial.
