Role Overview
This position supports day-to-day student discipline management in a school setting at Tampines, Singapore. The role focuses on supervising students in detention or suspension, keeping discipline processes organised, and helping staff maintain a safe and structured learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and guide students who are serving detention or suspension after school.
- Carry out discipline procedures and keep all related records accurate and up to date.
- Track follow-ups on student discipline cases and make sure assigned tasks are completed.
- Update discipline data such as detention logs, late-coming records, attendance, and related student information.
- Handle the daily running of the Discipline Room, including walk-ins and records of confiscated phones.
- Support monitoring of late arrivals and tracking of student movement.
- Share case updates with teachers, Year Heads, and school leadership.
- Coordinate with the Student Management team on case monitoring and student development efforts.
- Encourage good behaviour using restorative and developmental discipline methods.
- Assist with intervention activities and structured learning tasks for students considered at risk.
- Supervise students during unstructured periods such as recess and after school.
- Support examination periods to help maintain discipline and smooth operations.
- Monitor students in self-study and suspension programmes during term breaks.
- Keep detailed records for student profiling and disciplinary tracking.
Requirements
- Minimum qualification: GCE O-Level.
- Prior experience in the Ministry of Education environment is preferred.
- Background in coaching or mentoring at-risk youth is an advantage.
- Experience with student discipline investigations and writing reports for school management.
- Comfortable using school management systems, student databases, and online learning platforms.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
