Director / Senior Director, Corporate Development

Position Summary

Emulate is actively seeking an experienced Director or Senior Director of Corporate Development to drive strategic growth initiatives through partnerships, transaction management, and exploring market expansion avenues. This key leadership role involves assessing and negotiating collaborations and licensing arrangements while closely aligning with senior management and multifunctional departments in a dynamic growth-phase organization.

Primary Duties

• Identify strategic partnership, licensing, and collaboration opportunities consistent with company objectives
• Lead and assist in corporate development deals, performing due diligence, financial assessments, structuring agreements, and negotiating terms
• Collaborate with executive leadership to establish corporate development goals and maintain transaction pipelines
• Coordinate with Research & Development, Commercial, and Legal teams to synchronize deal strategies and execution
• Create financial models, valuation reports, and business cases to guide critical decisions
• Participate in negotiating term sheets and finalized contracts alongside legal advisors
• Monitor industry trends, competitive activities, and new technological developments
• Support management and governance of strategic partnerships
• Enhance internal processes and best practices for deal evaluation and completion

Required Qualifications

• Advanced degree in life sciences, such as biology or bio-engineering; MBA is considered a plus
• Approximately 8 to 12 years of experience in corporate development, business development, consulting, or strategic roles within biotech, pharma, or life sciences tools sectors
• Proven background in managing transactions like partnerships and licensing agreements
• Expertise in financial modeling and analytical assessment
• Ability to communicate effectively with both scientific and commercial professionals
• Experience collaborating across departments in fast-paced environments
• Strong interpersonal and communication capabilities

Additional Details

This position is located onsite in Boston, Massachusetts. The anticipated salary range is $200,000 to $225,000 annually, with compensation influenced by expertise and role level. Benefits include equity options and a thorough benefits plan.
