Role Summary

The Director of Finance will combine hands-on financial management with strategic analysis, supporting daily operations and long-term initiatives. This leader will collaborate closely with the Managing Director and other department heads to enhance financial processes, improve operational transparency, and guarantee efficient, sustainable property management. The role also includes presenting financial findings and interpretations to ownership stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all accounting activities, including general ledger, accounts payable, payroll, and preparing financial reports.
• Ensure the prompt and accurate completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Maintain robust internal controls and an effective system for oversight and compliance.
• Coordinate annual audits, tax submissions, and adhere to regulatory obligations.
• Analyze financial results to detect trends and areas requiring enhancement.
• Lead the preparation of annual budgets and continuous financial forecasting.
• Create and update financial models to aid operational and strategic choices.
• Deliver variance analyses along with actionable recommendations to senior management.
• Assist department heads in budget management and financial understanding.
• Assess cost structures to uncover efficiency improvements and control expenses.
• Collaborate on long-term planning, capital investment, and business strategy alongside executive leadership.
• Oversee financial aspects related to construction, renovations, and capital projects, including budgeting, cash flow, and ROI.
• Support evaluation of new ventures, partnerships, or operational projects.
• Offer financial expertise for pricing, workforce management, and operations decisions.
• Manage cash flow forecasting and liquidity to ensure continuous operational support.
• Maintain and cultivate strong banking and lender partnerships.
• Supervise the Accounting Manager and finance team to foster a culture of precision and responsibility.
• Facilitate collaboration across operations, HR, and department leaders to boost financial awareness.

Qualifications

• At least 5-10 years of progressive financial leadership experience as a Director of Finance or equivalent in large resorts or hospitality venues within the Middle East.
• Advanced degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a recognized certification such as CA or CPA.
• Proven expertise in financial compliance, audit processes, and regulatory adherence.
• Extensive experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning in complex operational environments.
• Strong command of financial systems, accounting software, and data analytics tools.
• Deep understanding of internal controls, risk management, and corporate financial governance.
• Ability to lead accounting teams effectively while promoting accuracy and accountability.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities to convert financial data into strategic insights.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills tailored for senior management and ownership audiences.
• (Preferred) Experience in hospitality, theme parks, or water park industries.
• Familiarity with capital project management, construction budgeting, and ROI evaluations.
• Knowledge of cash flow processes and banking relationship development.
• Experience with property management systems and integrated financial reporting platforms.
• Previous involvement in strategic financial planning and long-range forecasting initiatives.
