Position Overview
The Director of Nursing is responsible for managing the nursing department to maintain and enhance high standards of patient care in accordance with hospital policies and healthcare regulations. This leadership role involves guiding nursing personnel, fostering continuous improvement, and ensuring quality patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the nursing division ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and hospital protocols.
- Provide strong leadership and mentorship to nursing staff to promote professional growth and care excellence.
- Work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams to establish and implement patient care policies and initiatives.
- Manage resources effectively, including staffing, budgeting, and procurement of medical supplies and equipment.
- Track patient outcomes and drive quality assurance activities to improve service delivery and satisfaction.
- Offer support and direction during emergencies to ensure nursing teams are prepared and responsive.
- Maintain thorough clinical documentation adhering to legal and ethical standards.
- Coordinate with hospital management to align nursing department goals with the institution's strategic plans.
- Organize and facilitate continuous education and training for nursing staff on current healthcare practices.
- Serve as a communication bridge between patients, their families, and healthcare providers to advocate for patient needs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc Nursing) required; Master of Science in Nursing (M.Sc Nursing) is preferable.
