Role overview
This opportunity is being advertised for a partner employer, and that employer will handle applications and the remaining hiring steps. The role is for a Director, Global People Systems in the United States.
In this leadership role, you will guide the strategy, improvement, and long-term development of HR technology platforms that support global People operations. The position focuses on getting the best performance from Workday and related systems to strengthen processes, data quality, analytics, and the employee experience.
You will work closely with HR, Technology, and business leaders to create scalable solutions that support growth and operational excellence. The role blends strategic direction, technical depth, and change leadership to advance global People operations.
You will also manage a strong team, lead key systems initiatives, and put in place structures that enable data-driven decisions. This is a chance for an experienced HR technology leader to influence the future of People systems in a mission-driven organization that is growing quickly.
Key accountabilities
- Create and carry out a global People Systems strategy that supports business goals, including better use of technology, stronger analytics, and higher adoption by end users.
- Oversee the administration, setup, upkeep, and ongoing enhancement of Workday and other HR technology tools.
- Work with Technology teams on integrations, security design, platform upgrades, and technical roadmap planning.
- Recruit, lead, and develop a high-performing People Systems team that values teamwork, innovation, and operational discipline.
- Set up controls and processes that keep employee data accurate, secure, and compliant across global systems.
- Shape future-oriented people analytics and reporting capabilities that provide actionable business insight.
- Lead People Systems projects from planning through delivery, keeping work on schedule, within budget, and aligned to quality standards.
- Partner with HR leaders, business stakeholders, and technology teams to uncover improvement opportunities and meet changing operational needs.
- Promote AI use in People processes by assessing, implementing, and refining AI-enabled tools and capabilities.
- Support compliance efforts, including preparation for changing regulatory expectations and operational requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Technology, or a closely related discipline.
- At least 10 years of HRIS experience, including substantial hands-on work managing and improving Workday environments.
- Background leading global HRIS implementations, day-to-day operations, and technology transformation programs.
- Solid understanding of HR workflows, People operations best practices, and HR technology strategy.
- Experience building and using HR analytics and reporting solutions.
- Strong project management ability with experience handling complex initiatives across multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence leaders in HR, Technology, and business functions.
- Experience managing vendors, system partners, and outside technology providers.
- Proven success leading, coaching, and developing high-performing teams.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-moving, global, and changing environment.
- Preferred: experience driving AI adoption and transformation in business or HR settings.
- Strong knowledge of Workday configuration, implementation, reporting, and optimization.
