Position Overview
Swinburne University of Technology seeks a talented Designer to join its Brand and Marketing department at the Hawthorn campus. This ongoing, full-time role focuses on delivering exceptional creative assets that support the university's brand, marketing, recruitment, and engagement goals. The Designer will specialize in digital campaigns, creating visual content for paid social media, digital advertisements, websites, and electronic direct mail (eDMs).
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of creative materials throughout the project lifecycle, from initial concept to final artwork.
- Collaborate with an integrated in-house multidisciplinary design team to produce print and digital marketing materials including publications, event collateral, signage, brand communications, and promotional items.
- Ensure the application of up-to-date design trends and insights into digital platforms and audience behavior to maximize campaign effectiveness.
- Maintain brand consistency across various formats and communication touchpoints.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders and team members to meet project goals and deadlines.
Experience and Skills Required
- Proven background in design within an agency, corporate marketing team, or large organizations delivering high-quality creative results.
- Expertise in crafting digital marketing assets tailored for paid social, digital ads, websites, and eDMs.
- Strong grasp of digital-first design principles, audience engagement techniques, platform-specific requirements, and current design trends.
- Ability to develop creative solutions for both digital and print formats including campaign assets, publications, events graphics, and signage.
- Competence in creating audience-centred designs aligned with brand standards and campaign objectives.
- Advanced skills using Adobe Creative Cloud and modern design and production workflows.
- Experience using campaign data analytics to inform and refine creative strategies.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and user-centred design best practices.
- Excellent organisational abilities to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
