Role overview
The Delivery Manager / Program Manager is responsible for steering the full lifecycle delivery of the GEP SMART implementation program in Germany. The role keeps all workstreams synchronized, monitors schedule and budget performance, and addresses risks early so the program can be completed within scope, on time, and on budget. Acting as the main coordination hub, this position brings together functional, technical, client, and partner teams to maintain clear communication, resolve blockers, and build stakeholder trust throughout the project.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the overall integrated project plan, with clear timelines, visible critical-path dependencies, and well-defined milestones.
- Ensure program execution stays aligned to the approved scope, timeline, budget, and quality expectations.
- Run daily standups, weekly progress reviews, and regular checkpoint discussions with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Keep the RAID register current by continuously identifying, assessing, and reducing risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies.
- Coordinate cutover preparation and hypercare activities, making sure every workstream is ready for transition.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the client, internal delivery teams, and any delivery partners.
- Track and manage project resourcing, escalating shortages in capacity or skills when necessary.
- Support governance cadences, reporting, and decision-making processes throughout the program.
Required experience and skills
- At least 8 years of experience in project or program management in a technology or consulting environment.
- Proven history of delivering large, complex implementations or transformation programs across multiple workstreams.
- Strong command of project delivery approaches such as Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams, vendors, and client-side stakeholders.
- Hands-on familiarity with planning tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira, or comparable platforms.
- Solid capability in risk control, resource forecasting, and issue resolution.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities, including comfort engaging senior and executive stakeholders.
Preferred qualifications
- PMP, PRINCE2, or an equivalent project management certification is preferred.
- Experience with ERP, procurement, or SaaS platform rollouts, especially GEP SMART, is an advantage.
- Prior exposure to client PMO environments is beneficial.
- Knowledge of cutover planning, hypercare, and operational handover is preferred.
