About the Role
Join Performance Food Group as a Delivery Driver, playing an essential role in North America's food distribution network by ensuring timely and safe delivery of food and food service products. Work Schedule
This role involves working Monday through Friday, from 5:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate tractor trailers or straight trucks to deliver and unload food products both within and between states, adhering to safety guidelines and timelines.
- Perform mandatory vehicle safety inspections before and after trips, ensuring all equipment meets company and regulatory standards.
- Communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and colleagues to resolve inquiries promptly.
- Verify loads by checking freight counts and condition before transportation, and accurately complete related documentation.
- Handle tasks such as moving tractors to loading docks, attaching trailers, unloading goods, and securing trailers as required.
- Collect payments where applicable, process customer returns, and manage damaged goods following company protocols.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of vehicles and loading areas, and safely secure all equipment at the end of shifts.
- Accurately log hours of service in compliance with federal, state, and company regulations.
- Perform other assigned duties to support operational needs as necessary.
Candidate Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalent is mandatory.
- Minimum of 2 years of commercial driving experience.
- At least 21 years old and meet all applicable state licensing and certification standards.
- Maintain a clean driving record with no violations in the last three years.
- Must pass a criminal background check and a driving skills test.
- Capable of manual tasks including lifting and using equipment like two-wheelers and lift gates to manage freight weighing typically between 10 and 90 pounds.
