Domino’s is hiring delivery drivers for its Daleville, Alabama store. Key duties

In addition to delivering orders, store team members may be asked to support a range of in-store tasks. Delivery responsibilities

Drivers are expected to deliver food by car directly to customers’ doors, distribute flyers and door hangers, and handle several deliveries during a shift. Work also involves travelling between the store and the vehicle, walking to delivery locations, and sometimes climbing multiple flights of stairs.

Requirements and skills

Applicants must be at least 18 years old, hold a valid driver’s license, and maintain a safe driving record that meets company standards. A vehicle insured for delivery use is required. The job also calls for strong navigation skills, the ability to read a map, find addresses within the assigned delivery area, and work through difficult terrain, including multi-story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites while carrying food.

Other expected abilities include accurate basic math, making correct change, clear verbal and written communication, and the ability to process orders by phone or in person. Team members should also be comfortable using a computer keyboard or touchscreen, and should be able to work alone or with others, follow instructions, and handle repetitive tasks under pressure.

Working conditions

This position includes exposure to changing and sometimes harsh weather while delivering, and to a variety of in-store conditions such as cooler temperatures, hot work areas, food odors, cornmeal dust, tight spaces, hot tools and surfaces, and moving mechanical parts. Physical work may involve standing for long periods, walking short distances, lifting and carrying boxes and supplies, bending, crouching, reaching, pushing trays on dollies, and occasionally climbing stairs or ladders for maintenance or signage work.

Training and advancement

Orientation and on-the-job training are provided. Domino’s also notes that many team members begin as delivery drivers and later move into store management, general management, or franchise ownership.

Physical requirements

Tasks are performed mostly while standing. Some work requires walking short distances, sitting briefly for paperwork, lifting deliveries that may weigh up to 50 pounds, carrying supplies and food items, pushing or pulling trays, and climbing stairs when needed. Deliveries can require carrying food and beverages to customer locations and navigating multiple flights of stairs.
