About the Role

Joining Walmart Canada as a Deli Associate offers a valuable opportunity to enhance your experience in the retail sector. In this position, you will provide outstanding customer service aligned with Walmart's core values, manage and organize the deli department, and assist with stocking and sales operations.

Primary Responsibilities

• Maintain and organize the deli department ensuring proper zoning.
• Manage inventory by rotating stock and inspecting for expired items.
• Ensure all products are clearly labeled and accurately priced.
• Follow strict standards regarding cold chain management, thermometer calibration, temperature documentation, food handling procedures, product rotation, and monitoring sell-by and expiration dates.
• Take customer orders for deli products and prepare items including slicing meats and cheeses, fried chicken, and deli specialty items.
• Support front-end associates with price verification as needed.
• Prepare deli meals and items using slicers, stackers, rotisserie ovens, deep fryers, and assembling salads and side dishes for display and customer orders.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace free from debris, spills, and unnecessary equipment.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this position is $18.05.

Minimum Requirements

• Applicants must be at least 16 years of age.
