About the Role
Joining as a Deli Associate at Walmart Canada offers an opportunity to enhance your expertise in retail and customer service. This position focuses on providing excellent customer care in line with Walmart's core values, managing and organizing the deli section, along with assisting in stocking and facilitating sales of deli products.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize and maintain the deli department ensuring optimal presentation.
- Manage stock rotation and monitor product expiration dates to guarantee freshness.
- Ensure all merchandise is accurately priced and correctly labeled.
- Follow stringent protocols relating to cold chain management, including thermometer calibration, temperature logging, proper food handling, and compliance with sell-by and expiration guidelines.
- Process orders for deli items, including slicing and preparing meats, cheeses, fried chicken, and assisting customers as needed.
- Support front-end associates by performing price checks for customers.
- Prepare deli food orders using equipment such as slicers, stackers, rotisserie ovens, and deep fryers; maintain display areas with salads and side dishes; fulfill specialty customer orders effectively.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the deli area, ensuring it is free from clutter, debris, or any hazards.
Additional Information
The starting wage for this full-time position is $16.45 per hour.
