Role Overview

The Dean of Academic Affairs is a leadership position based full-time on-site in Juba. This role is accountable for articulating and maintaining the academic vision, quality, and integrity across all FutureCraft programs. Key duties include managing academic departments, steering curriculum development and periodic reviews, and ensuring teaching and assessment align with competency-based TVET criteria and industry requirements. Daily responsibilities involve supervising academic personnel, leading accreditation and compliance efforts, overseeing enrollment and student progression, and collaborating with student services teams to foster positive learner experiences and outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage academic departments and faculty to uphold academic standards and program integrity.
• Lead continuous curriculum development and review processes, ensuring relevance to industry needs and competency-based training principles.
• Supervise accreditation and quality assurance activities to maintain compliance with regulatory and educational standards.
• Monitor student enrollment, retention, and progression to support academic success.
• Collaborate with student support units to enhance academic advising, learner engagement, and retention initiatives.
• Partner with senior management and industry stakeholders to expand program offerings and foster continuous academic improvement.
• Utilize data-driven strategies for academic planning and decision-making processes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in accreditation and quality assurance in technical, vocational, or tertiary education environments.
• Expertise in curriculum creation, program design, and competency-based instruction that aligns with workforce requirements.
• Successful track record in academic administration, including policy formulation, faculty management, and governance.
• Experience overseeing enrollment management, student progression tracking, and evidence-based educational decisions.
• Familiarity with student affairs, including advising, learner support, and initiatives that promote engagement and success.
• Possession of an advanced degree in Education, Educational Leadership, TVET Management, or a closely related discipline; doctoral qualifications are advantageous.
• Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills enabling management of diverse academic teams and stakeholder relationships.
• Competence in strategic planning, project management, and leveraging educational technology and learning management systems.
• Dedication to inclusive, learner-focused approaches and commitment to advancing skills development and employability within the TVET sector.
