- Manage database workloads in Kubernetes environments, including orchestration, image handling, and deployment of stateful services.
- Build Kubernetes-native patterns for persistent applications, including StatefulSets, persistent volumes, and resource planning.
- Create infrastructure tooling and services that support a stronger DevOps operating model across engineering teams.
- Partner with Engineering and Customer Support to resolve urgent production incidents, including issues that may arise outside standard hours.
- Protect large volumes of business-critical data by keeping it secure, resilient, and continuously available.
Requirements
- Strong experience with configuration management, especially Chef.
- Practical scripting ability in Python and Bash.
- Background working with large-scale datastores such as Cassandra, Elasticsearch, Kafka, Zookeeper, and MySQL.
- Hands-on experience administering databases in Kubernetes, including StatefulSets, storage, orchestration, and workload optimization.
- Working knowledge of Kubernetes tooling and concepts, including kubectl, Helm, YAML manifests, networking, storage classes, and cluster administration.
- Experience supporting large, business-critical Linux environments.
- Cloud experience, ideally with AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with both onsite and distributed teams.
- Sound decision-making under pressure.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Independent working style with good judgment on when to seek support.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
Benefits
- Competitive compensation with equity awards.
- Broad health and wellness programs covering physical and mental wellbeing.
- Paid vacation and holidays for rest and recovery.
- Paid parental and adoption leave.
- Access to professional development opportunities at every level.
- Employee networks, neighborhood groups, and volunteering opportunities.
- Vibrant workplace culture with strong amenities.
