Data Integrity Specialist

About the Role

The University of Auckland, with over 10,000 staff serving more than 47,000 students, strives to create positive impacts through a diverse and curious workforce. Within its Human Resources team, a new position is available for a Data Integrity Specialist focused on maintaining high standards of accuracy and reliability in employee data across HR and payroll systems like Workday and aPay.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and reconcile employee data between HR and payroll systems to ensure consistency.
• Investigate and fix discrepancies to guarantee payroll accuracy and operational excellence.
• Identify root causes of data quality problems and implement long-lasting solutions.
• Address integration failures, data inconsistencies, and processing challenges.
• Create insightful reports, dashboards, and data quality metrics.
• Analyze patterns and propose improvements to data and process efficiency.
• Collaborate with reporting and analytics teams to refine data structures and enhance reporting capabilities.
• Establish and maintain data governance policies, standards, and procedures.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum five years of experience in data quality, reconciliation, audits, HR or payroll system analytics, preferably with Workday and aPay.
• Proven ability to investigate and solve intricate data problems across multiple platforms.
• Experience working within large, complex organizations.
• Involvement in system implementations, data migrations, upgrades, or process improvement projects.
• Proficient with reporting and visualization tools like Power BI to craft reports and dashboards.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
