Role Overview
Welocalize seeks a Multilingual Data Annotation Project Manager on an initial one-year contract to join its global localization delivery team. This role entails leading the execution, validation, and delivery of high-volume multilingual localization and quality assurance projects for enterprise clients. Acting as the primary operational liaison between client teams, in-country linguistic reviewers, translation vendors, and internal talent pools, the manager ensures multilingual assets are culturally accurate, linguistically impeccable, and delivered punctually.
Main Responsibilities
- Oversee complete localization projects including planning scope, assigning resources, tracking timelines, and delivering multilingual content.
- Create detailed project briefs, handoff packages, linguistic quality guidelines, and progress tracking tools for global teams.
- Coordinate onboarding and management of in-country reviewers, freelance linguists, subject matter experts, and translation vendors.
- Collaborate with Quality Specialists to implement Linguistic Quality Assurance frameworks, scorecards, error typologies, and evaluation methods.
- Monitor project financials, budget adherence, and operational margins to meet key performance indicators.
- Conduct quality audits, organize reviewer calibration sessions, and manage feedback processes to resolve linguistic discrepancies and enhance consistency.
- Support client relationships as the principal operational contact by proactively managing risks and swiftly addressing delivery challenges.
Job Requirements
- Proven experience managing projects in dynamic, client-focused settings within translation or localization sectors.
- Thorough knowledge of localization processes, internationalization readiness, and translation quality evaluation techniques.
- Hands-on experience with Translation Management Systems and CAT tools such as Smartling, Phrase, XTM, or Crowdin.
- Skilled in coordinating diverse virtual teams spanning multiple time zones, including linguists and localization vendors.
- Competent in managing budgets, scope alterations, and financial tracking.
- Experience with bug-tracking and project management software like Jira and Confluence for tracking linguistic errors, validation, and tasks.
