About the Role

Bayer’s Digital Farming team within Crop Science develops sustainable digital products by combining agronomic knowledge, data science, engineering, and hands-on farming experience. The group builds advanced analytics capabilities and uses insights, metrics, and data services to create value for both Bayer and its customers. In this role, you will work across Commercial, Marketing, and Science functions to support global commercial strategy and improve business performance through data-driven decision-making.

What You’ll Do

  • Act as a dependable partner to DFS leaders and other stakeholders, helping solve business problems and deepen their understanding of operations.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on data from FieldView and related sources, while supporting global teams on data processes and systems.
  • Develop reporting solutions by interpreting business needs and delivering automated or ad hoc reporting, along with data storytelling that highlights trends clearly.
  • Own analytical workstreams for assigned areas, including data exploration, validation, and project delivery.
  • Design and run analytical experiments and apply statistical methods where needed.
  • Collaborate with Commercial, Data Engineering, and Science teams to uncover better insights from product and agronomic data.
  • Help shape the technical roadmap with Data Engineering and maintain clear documentation for important business reporting rules.
  • Perform data mining, statistical analysis, and visualization to understand how growers use the product.
  • Share knowledge and support the growth of other analysts through coaching, feedback, and on-the-job learning.

What You Need

  • A bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Math, or another quantitative field, plus at least 2 years of relevant analytics experience.
  • Working knowledge of master data management, relational and columnar databases, ETL, and data warehousing.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL and either PySpark or BigQuery for large data sets.
  • Ability to carry out research-oriented projects and turn findings into practical recommendations.
  • Intermediate skills in Excel and PowerPoint, plus strong proficiency in SQL and Python with common libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, and Seaborn.
  • Experience building dashboards and user-facing reporting tools in BI platforms such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • A self-motivated approach and comfort working independently as well as in collaborative teams.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, or a related area.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Copilot, MyGenAssist, or Gemini.
  • Strong grounding in statistical analysis and experiment design.
  • Experience working with geospatial and/or agronomic datasets, including formats such as WKT, Shapefile, and GeoJSON.
  • Experience applying machine learning and statistical tools such as Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or Keras to geospatial or agronomic data.
  • Ability to manipulate and visualize geospatial data to generate insights from agricultural or biotechnology data.
  • Familiarity with version control and CI/CD workflows, including GitLab, Docker, and package managers such as Conda or Poetry.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected salary range is approximately $71,000 to $135,000 annually. The role may also be eligible for a bonus or incentive program, where applicable. Benefits can include medical, vision, dental, retirement, paid time off, and sick leave. Final pay may vary depending on location, market conditions, relevant skills, prior experience, education, certifications, and other job-related factors.
