Role Overview
As the Data & AI Governance Lead at SGX, you will spearhead the development and advancement of the company’s enterprise Data and Artificial Intelligence governance capabilities. Your aim will be to manage data and AI models as key strategic assets, fostering innovation that is reliable, secure, and compliant.
Collaborating closely with teams in business, technology, risk, legal, and compliance domains, you will craft necessary frameworks, policies, and operational models to embed strong governance within daily activities. This key leadership position supports SGX’s positioning as a trusted, AI-driven financial market infrastructure.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive Enterprise Data and AI Governance frameworks and operating models, including clear role definitions and decision-making authorities (RACI matrices).
- Initiate and lead the Enterprise Data & AI Council, ensuring alignment across functions and high-level visibility.
- Set standards for data ownership, stewardship, accountability, and identify critical data elements enterprise-wide.
- Measure and report governance maturity by defining KPIs and conducting regular executive updates.
- Create and maintain policies covering Data, AI, and Knowledge management, including aspects like Data Quality, Metadata cataloguing, AI Safety, and AI Lifecycle management in collaboration with the Chief Risk Office.
- Oversee and update the Enterprise AI Inventory; define AI classification schemes and conduct AI Trust Assessments to promote responsible AI practices.
- Ensure governance processes conform to internal and external regulations such as MAS FEAT Principles, MAS AI Governance guidelines, PDPA, AI Verify, ISO/IEC 42001, and Model Risk requirements, serving as the domain specialist during regulatory interactions.
- Promote widespread adoption of data and AI governance protocols across business units.
- Develop and deliver programs for Data & AI awareness, governance education, and AI literacy to instill a culture of trusted AI usage within SGX.
Candidate Qualifications
- 8 to 12 years of relevant experience in Data Governance, AI Governance, or Enterprise Risk Management.
- Background predominantly in financial services or similarly regulated and complex industries.
- Proven capability in designing and instituting enterprise-wide governance frameworks from inception.
- Expertise in AI governance, compliance with emerging global regulations, AI risk and model risk management, metadata handling, and principles of data quality; knowledge of Enterprise Architecture is advantageous.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, adept at influencing executives, cross-functional teams, and regulatory bodies.
