About the role
VAST Data is hiring a Customer Support Engineer for its Singapore team. This is an opportunity to join a fast-scaling infrastructure business working at the center of the AI-driven transformation, helping customers deploy and operate modern data infrastructure.
VAST Data builds enterprise software that helps organizations capture, organize, enrich, secure, and analyze very large datasets for real-time analytics as well as AI training and inference. The platform is designed to simplify deployment and management of AI and enterprise infrastructure across data center, edge, and cloud environments.

What you'll do
- Serve as a trusted technical contact for customers through strong product knowledge, responsiveness, and a service-oriented approach.
- Triage and resolve support cases quickly, using hands-on troubleshooting and escalating with complete technical context when needed.
- Handle daily technical operations for customers and drive issues through to final resolution and closure.
- Support customer-facing field work such as installations, upgrades, break-fix work, and capacity expansions.
- Raise and track feature requests and bugs with internal product and development teams.
- Represent the needs and priorities of assigned accounts and follow through on escalations, bugs, and feature requests.
- Look for ways to improve customer adoption and maximize usage of VAST products.
- Partner with account teams by sharing technical status updates and progress on active customer work.
- Balance customer satisfaction, KPI commitments, and SLA targets while managing multiple priorities.
Requirements
- Must be a Singapore citizen.
- At least 5 years of experience in customer-facing pre-sales or post-sales roles supporting complex storage environments.
- Strong ability to organize time and manage a changing case load with shifting priorities.
- Deep experience in enterprise IT infrastructure, networking, storage, and a broad understanding of enterprise software.
- Practical knowledge of Linux administration and day-to-day Linux operating system tasks.
- Working experience with Linux networking configuration and network troubleshooting.
- Strong scripting and programming background, including required bash scripting and familiarity with at least one additional programming language.
- Substantial experience with file systems and scale-out NAS implementations.
- Excellent business communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
- Background in S3 and high-performance computing is a strong plus.
- Hands-on experience with lab environments and hardware management is an advantage.
- Experience in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial startup environment is also an advantage.
- MS or B.Sc. in CS, CE, EE, or a related discipline.

This position is based in Singapore and is a full-time, onsite role.
