Role Overview

This Field Service Engineer role, based in Auckland, New Zealand, requires working non-standard shifts covering a 40-hour week that includes weekends. The position involves traveling to different customer sites with a company vehicle and tools to deliver on-site troubleshooting and repairs. You will provide expert technical support to ensure superior service for customers in your territory, reporting directly to the NZ Operations Manager and joining the APAC Field Services team.

Responsibilities

• Identify and repair Self Checkout (SCO), Point of Sale (POS), and other NCR Voyix devices.
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance and diagnose issues, replacing necessary parts.
• Manage and organize spare parts inventory efficiently.
• Provide timely and accurate reporting of service calls, activities, and expenses.
• Record detailed customer asset data essential for invoicing and billing processes.
• Engage in continuous professional development through both online and classroom training.
• Operate independently in the field and office environments.
• Take full ownership of customer issues until resolved satisfactorily, adhering to Service Level Agreements.
• Travel regionally and nationally as required, including overnight stays.
• Meet established key performance indicators focused on customer satisfaction, quality, cost-effectiveness, and safety.

Qualifications

• Basic computer proficiency including navigation of Windows OS and familiarity with Microsoft Office.
• Experience with PC hardware maintenance and support.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.

Preferred Qualifications

• Skills in repairing electro-mechanical devices.
• Prior experience with NCR or similar equipment.
• Recognized academic background in Electronics or IT fields.

• Possession of a valid New Zealand full driver's license.
• Excellent customer service capabilities and high attention to detail.

Compensation and Work Hours

The annual base salary is NZD 70,000 plus an additional NZD 12,000 shift allowance for non-standard hours, totaling 40 working hours weekly.
