Customer Delivery Driver

Role Overview

As a Customer Delivery Driver, you represent Tesco out on the roads, directly interacting with customers at their homes. This position involves more than just driving; it focuses on providing excellent service with a friendly attitude. The job is physically engaging with diverse tasks and requires working independently most of the time, supported by a team back at base.

Working Hours

• Sunday to Saturday, 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM

Key Duties

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the van, trays, and work environment to ensure customers receive their orders in top condition.
• Load the delivery van safely, perform all necessary checks to guarantee the vehicle's roadworthiness and readiness for service.
• Communicate with customers clearly about any order modifications, substitutions, or near-expiry items, providing friendly support and arranging refunds to smooth the process.
• Handle products carefully, treating each order as if it were personal to uphold quality and trust.
• Deliver orders within the allotted customer time slot, greeting customers warmly and making them feel valued.

Candidate Requirements

• Develop strong teamwork with colleagues to foster a supportive and efficient work environment.
• Be personable and welcoming to customers and teammates alike.
• Adapt quickly to changing customer demands and organizational shifts on the road and in-store.
• Hold a valid UK/EU/EEA full or automatic driving license for at least 12 months with no more than three penalty points.
