Role Overview
The Security Operations team at ANZ is integral in shielding the bank, its clients, and technological systems from advanced cyber threats. As a CSOC Analyst, you will be pivotal in protecting customer data, identities, and finances, ensuring our technology infrastructure remains secure, resilient, and reliable amidst threats such as phishing, ransomware, and sophisticated cloud and supply chain attacks.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead response efforts to security incidents, coordinating across multiple ANZ teams to deliver a unified resolution.
- Create and refine detection mechanisms, automation processes, and response workflows to enhance threat identification and mitigation.
- Conduct thorough investigations of security events spanning endpoints, networks, cloud environments, and identity systems.
- Deliver root cause analysis, remediation strategies, and provide support during cybersecurity incidents.
- Develop playbooks and implement solutions aimed at boosting incident response effectiveness and reducing manual interventions.
- Keep stakeholders informed regarding evolving threat landscapes, emphasizing cloud, identity, and enterprise security challenges.
- Support investigations into modern attack techniques including phishing, malware, ransomware, identity-based intrusions, supply chain issues, and denial-of-service attacks.
Working Details
This is a permanent full-time position based in Auckland or Wellington, New Zealand, requiring 37.5 hours weekly plus participation in an on-call roster to support 24/7 incident management.
Candidate Profile
- Experience in Security Operations, Incident Response, Threat Intelligence, Detection Engineering, Threat Hunting, or relevant cybersecurity disciplines.
- Solid understanding of network security, systems security, incident response, and cyber defense best practices.
- Technical expertise in areas such as application security, operating system internals, infrastructure security, digital forensics, malware analysis, cloud security, and identity security.
- Knowledge of security vulnerabilities, attacker tactics, techniques, and procedures with aptitude in their detection and remediation.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills.
- A keen interest in continuous learning and innovation within the cybersecurity field.
