Stellenbeschreibung

Overview

Deloitte Jamaica is looking for an Actuarial & Insurance Solutions Consultant focused on property and casualty (P&C) / non-life work. The role sits within a collaborative, growth-oriented environment where curiosity, purpose, inclusion, learning, and measurable client impact are central to the culture.

What the role involves

You will support a broad mix of actuarial consulting assignments by analyzing data, helping build models, preparing reports and presentations, and contributing to recommendations for clients. The position is designed for someone building an actuarial career while working toward professional actuarial credentials.

  • Support the team through data analysis, modelling, valuation work, report creation, and participation in client discussions.
  • Work with new tools and technologies as part of day-to-day delivery.
  • Strengthen analytical thinking, problem solving, and communication capabilities.
  • Take part in well-being, sustainability, social, and community initiatives tied to Deloitte's shared values.

About the team

The consulting team uses modern technology and industry knowledge to serve insurers, reinsurers, captives, pension schemes, banks, and other non-financial organizations. The team also works across borders with actuarial colleagues globally and alongside accounting and other specialist professionals, enabling a wider range of expertise than is typical in many actuarial consulting practices. Deloitte supports ongoing learning and professional development, including a study program for employees pursuing actuarial designation.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in a related discipline, or an equivalent qualification such as ACCA.
  • Clear progress toward actuarial exams, such as through the Society of Actuaries, Casualty Actuarial Society, Institute of Actuaries, or an equivalent body.
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience, which may include co-op or internship experience.
  • Practical exposure to actuarial techniques used in pricing and reserving.
  • Preferred background in consulting or other client-facing work.
  • Preferred experience with P&C reserving and capital modelling.
  • Preferred familiarity with Solvency II and similar regulatory frameworks.
  • Preferred exposure to IFRS 17 implementation work.
  • Preferred experience with ILS and catastrophe bonds.
  • Preferred use of analytical tools such as Python, R, and SQL.

Additional information

Deloitte highlights an innovative culture, visible career progression, flexibility through a hybrid working model, global mobility opportunities, and involvement in sustainability initiatives such as WorldClass and WorldClimate. The benefits package is described as competitive and includes well-being subsidies, paid leave, and YouTime.

Equal opportunity and screening

All qualified applicants are considered without regard to background, experience, ability, or thinking style. If accessibility support or accommodation is needed during the application process, it can be requested. The selected candidate will undergo background screening. Job ID: 250215.
