Role Overview

We are looking for an energetic Compensation Supervisor with 3 to 4 years of relevant experience to help design, implement, and manage competitive compensation and benefits schemes for our workforce. The position involves salary benchmarking, job evaluation, payroll alignment, and ensuring compliance with Ugandan labor laws. This role is perfect for detail-focused individuals who are enthusiastic about improving reward systems that enhance performance, employee retention, and organizational success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Calculate and process monthly payroll for all employees, including frontline, functional, and management staff, ensuring payroll accuracy and timeliness.
  • Review attendance data and manage exceptions including shift work, overtime, complex work hour policies, and piece-rate or hourly wage models common in manufacturing.
  • Register employees with Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) and National Social Security Fund (NSSF), guaranteeing compliance with statutory mandates.
  • Perform routine analyses of labor costs and overtime expenditures, providing comprehensive reports to management.
  • Assist in the development, calculation, and improvement of compensation plans, piece-rate schemes, and incentive programs.
  • Address employee questions regarding payroll and compensation, resolving discrepancies and concerns efficiently.

Qualifications & Experience

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in compensation or payroll roles.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and maintain high accuracy with data.
  • Willingness to work overtime during payroll periods.
  • Experience managing payroll for a workforce exceeding 500 employees preferred.
