Role Summary
We seek an experienced CNC Programmer skilled in creating, refining, and managing CNC machine codes for precision components. This role involves interpreting technical drawings, enhancing machining efficiency, and ensuring strict quality compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and adjust CNC programs for CNC Turning, Vertical Machining Centers (VMC), and Horizontal Machining Centers (HMC).
- Interpret engineering drawings, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and technical specifications accurately.
- Choose appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machining parameters.
- Conduct program prove-out and optimize machining cycle times.
- Develop setup documentation and tooling lists to facilitate production.
- Assist with machine setup and perform initial part inspections.
- Troubleshoot programming and machining challenges.
- Guarantee dimensional precision and surface finishes meet customer standards.
- Collaborate effectively with Production, Quality Assurance, and Design teams.
- Maintain program backups and relevant documentation rigorously.
- Adhere to safety protocols and 5S workplace organization practices.
Required Expertise
- Experienced in CNC programming using controls such as Fanuc, Siemens, Mitsubishi, or Haas.
- Proficient with G-Code and M-Code programming languages.
- Familiar with CAD/CAM software including Mastercam, SolidCAM, Powermill, NX CAM, or equivalents.
- Comprehensive understanding of machining operations and tool selection.
- Competent in reading both 2D and 3D engineering drawings.
- Knowledgeable about GD&T and precision measurement instruments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Educational Qualifications
- ITI, Diploma, or Bachelor’s degree (BE/B.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines.
- Certification in CNC Programming is advantageous.
Experience
Minimum of 2 to 5 years working as a CNC Programmer, ideally in precision machining or automotive manufacturing sectors.
