Civil Site Engineer

Role overview

This role is centered on delivering civil construction projects from start to finish within the sanctioned budget, while keeping quality, safety, schedule, and commercial outcomes under control. The position also involves accurate billing, active follow-up for payments, and ensuring the work is completed profitably with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.

Planning and scope control

You will be expected to review project agreements, drawings, and contractual conditions to fully understand the scope, financial implications, and deliverables. Based on this, you will prepare detailed execution plans and build project schedules from high-level milestones down to task-level planning so that delivery stays aligned with agreed timelines.

Resource and team coordination

The role requires arranging manpower, materials, machinery, and site facilities in advance, including accommodation, office setup, and local procurement support. You will also plan manpower deployment according to work sequence and project priorities, while building and guiding the site team to improve productivity, responsibility, and morale.

Execution and construction methodology

You will implement approved construction methods and site practices with an emphasis on cost efficiency and consistent output. Daily coordination with clients, consultants, and head office teams will be part of the job, along with quick resolution of site-level issues to keep work moving without interruption. Quality and safety must be upheld at every stage through inspections, toolbox talks, preventive action, and strict adherence to project standards, with the goal of defect-free work and zero incidents.

Commercial and cost management

This position involves monitoring site costs, verifying rate analysis, controlling local purchases, and checking material reconciliations to keep spending within approved limits. You will also handle client billing, ensure invoices are submitted on time, and follow up until payment is received. In addition, subcontractor bills and extra work items must be reviewed and controlled in coordination with head office, while maintaining accurate records of bills, machinery usage, payments, and related documents for transparency and compliance.

Progress tracking and reporting

You will track physical progress, delays, and site hindrances arising from issues such as rain, drawing changes, or fund shortages. Regular reporting to management on both financial and execution progress will be required to support decision-making, claim substantiation, and continuous improvement.
