Chief Technology Officer / Technology Director / Technology Executive

Role Overview

The Chief Technology Officer is tasked with steering the enterprise's technology vision, strategy, and execution. This includes fostering innovation, leading digital transformation initiatives, and developing secure, scalable, and high-performance tech platforms that underpin sustainable business growth.

Accountabilities

• Define and implement the enterprise technology roadmap aligned with strategic objectives.
• Oversee software engineering, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, enterprise architecture, data platforms, artificial intelligence, and technology operations.
• Collaborate closely with the CEO, executive leaders, board members, product managers, engineering teams, data scientists, cybersecurity experts, and stakeholders.
• Lead modernization projects, assess new technologies, and establish governance frameworks.
• Manage cloud migration efforts and technology portfolio budgets.
• Strengthen cybersecurity and risk management approaches.
• Mentor technology leadership and cultivate high-performing tech teams.
• Drive continuous exploration of innovation through cloud computing, AI, automation, and digital platforms.

Required Qualifications and Expertise

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, Information Systems, Engineering, AI, Data Science, Business Administration, or related disciplines; advanced degrees like a Master's, MBA, or Ph.D. are highly valued.
• Significant executive experience with a focus on technology leadership, software development, enterprise architecture, cloud solutions, cybersecurity, digital transformations, product innovation, or enterprise tech strategy.
• In-depth knowledge of software engineering principles, cloud-native tech, cybersecurity protocols, AI including Generative AI, machine learning, data platforms, DevSecOps, platform engineering, enterprise integration, and modern digital operating models.
• Demonstrated ability to design and scale enterprise technology environments leveraging major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and tools like Kubernetes, Docker, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation), and observability solutions.
• Expertise in cybersecurity frameworks, identity and access management, zero-trust security models, disaster recovery plans, business continuity, tech governance, regulatory/compliance matters, privacy safeguards, and risk management.
• Proven track record in leading company-wide digital transformation programs, cloud migrations, AI integrations, modernization initiatives, software delivery excellence, enterprise platform deployment, and technology integration following mergers and acquisitions.
• Strong commercial insight and financial management experience covering portfolio oversight, strategic tech investments, vendor relationships, technology procurement, budgeting, and aligning tech with overall growth strategies.
• Superior strategic thinking, leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management competencies, capable of influencing boards, executives, investors, customers, partners, and diverse tech teams.
• Experience in setting engineering best practices, governance frameworks, innovation programs, R&D efforts, AI governance practices, enterprise architecture norms, and building organizational capabilities.
• Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, SAFe, ITIL, COBIT, TOGAF, DevOps, DataOps, MLOps, and program management approaches is advantageous.
• Relevant professional certifications such as TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, Google Professional Cloud Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, CISSP, PMP, or other executive-level technology and cloud qualifications enhance candidacy.
