About the Role
We are collaborating with a commercial-stage biotechnology company on the brink of obtaining U.S. approval for its initial product, which targets rare and specialty therapeutic areas. This pivotal moment positions the right Chief Operating Officer to guarantee seamless operations across all departments, ensuring a successful product launch.
In this hands-on capacity within a compact biotech firm, you will directly impact CMC (chemistry, manufacturing, controls), supply chain logistics, quality assurance, IT, and patient-focused operations to fully prepare the product for market introduction.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee operational activities essential for getting the product launch-ready
- Lead teams responsible for CMC, manufacturing, and technical operations
- Ensure effective supply chain management, distribution, and product accessibility
- Drive quality control, compliance standards, and regulatory preparedness
- Manage IT infrastructure, digital platforms, and other operational systems
- Facilitate support for patient advocacy groups, medical affairs, and clinical operations
- Head a focused, high-achieving operations team
- Maintain a hands-on leadership style, enabling the Chief Commercial Officer to concentrate on commercial strategy
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in operations roles within small or early-stage biotech companies
- Operational leader comfortable with limited resources who takes an active role in daily activities
- Strong expertise in CMC, technical operations, supply chain logistics, and quality management
- Knowledgeable about commercial or near-commercial product preparation processes
- Preferred background includes experience with rare diseases, specialty therapies, or first-to-market product launches
- Enjoys coordinating multiple functions behind the scenes to keep operations aligned and progressing
