Overview
A long-established, independent pathology practice is hiring a Chief Operating Officer / Group Administrator to direct its administrative and business functions.
Role summary
Reporting to the President, this executive position is responsible for guiding strategic planning and managing key operational areas including budgeting, contracts, business growth, legal coordination, real estate, insurance, banking, and day-to-day administration. The role also oversees a multi-disciplinary support team spanning HR, payroll, credentialing, IT, lab operations, data analysis, and accounting.
Work arrangement
This opportunity is remote. The selected candidate will begin with several weeks onsite for onboarding and training, then transition to remote work with periodic travel to California, roughly once each quarter.
Requirements
The organization is looking for a leader with a master’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or Business Management, plus at least 7 years of experience running an anatomic pathology medical group practice or having strong working knowledge of anatomic pathology operations.
Strong financial capability is important, especially in areas such as budget preparation, tax accounting coordination, and oversight of 401(k) and TPA matters. The role also calls for excellent communication and people skills, along with comfort using modern business technologies.
Compensation
Salary is offered in the range of $190,000 to $250,000, based on experience.
