Role Overview

The Chief Innovation Officer serves a pivotal leadership role, working remotely and on a full-time basis, to shape and implement the company’s innovation agenda. This position spearheads cross-departmental programs aimed at uncovering new opportunities, experimenting with novel concepts, and scaling effective solutions to advance growth and competitive advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor evolving market conditions and emerging technology trends to guide innovation direction.
• Develop and steer innovation strategies and roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
• Collaborate closely with product development, technology, risk management, and operations departments to deliver relevant innovation initiatives.
• Lead, manage, and evaluate innovation projects including pilot testing and broader rollouts.
• Ensure all innovation activities comply with pertinent regulations and emphasize customer needs.
• Cultivate an innovative culture by mentoring teams, implementing frameworks for idea generation, and tracking project performance metrics.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Strong analytical capabilities to assess data, identify business prospects, and support fact-based decisions.
• In-depth knowledge of information technology, especially digital platforms and emerging fintech solutions.
• Proficiency in strategic planning to craft innovation frameworks and align projects with long-term goals.
• Experience managing innovation projects from inception through to scaling and integration.
• Leadership skills to motivate diverse, cross-functional teams and engage stakeholders.
• Background in financial services or fintech industries, knowledgeable in regulations, risk management, and customer-centered product development.
• Excellent communication abilities for translating complex concepts into understandable terms for varied audiences.
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Technology, Innovation Management, or related disciplines; equivalent trade experience is acceptable.
• Proven success in driving innovation, effecting change, and producing measurable business results in fast-paced settings.
