Overview
Privatal is collaborating with a prominent Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) company, supported by a leading private equity investor, located in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. As the company embarks on its next growth phase, it seeks a proactive, entrepreneurial Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to establish an efficient finance department and aid strategic expansion.
Key Responsibilities
- Assume full ownership of the finance, accounting, and controlling functions within the company.
- Lead all activities related to budgeting, forecasting, multi-year financial planning, and analyzing company performance.
- Design and implement automated reporting workflows, including KPI dashboards and management reporting tools.
- Interpret financial and operational results to provide clear, actionable advice to management teams and investors.
- Create a scalable finance infrastructure and recruit, develop, and lead a high-performance internal finance team.
- Enhance finance-related processes, systems, and tools by integrating automation and artificial intelligence solutions.
- Facilitate corporate financing, refinancing, mergers and acquisitions, and integration post-merger activities.
- Serve as a strategic consultant and collaborative partner for management, shareholders, and the advisory board.
- Ensure timely and precise financial information delivery, alongside governance and regulatory compliance.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience as a CFO, Finance Director, or VP Finance overseeing comprehensive finance functions.
- Preferably with exposure to private equity-backed software, technology, or SaaS companies.
- Track record in building, scaling, and leading finance teams effectively.
- Substantial background in mergers and acquisitions, financial due diligence, funding activities, refinancing, and post-merger integration.
- Experience engaging directly with shareholders, boards, and private equity investors.
- Expertise in SaaS-specific KPIs, unit economics, and knowledge of HGB accounting standards; familiarity with IFRS is a plus.
- Competence in using contemporary ERP, Business Intelligence, and Financial Planning & Analysis systems.
- Benefits from a background in Transaction Services, Financial Advisory, or with Big Four accounting firms considered advantageous.
- An entrepreneurial spirit combined with strategic insight and a hands-on leadership style.
- Fluency in both German and English languages is essential.
